What itranscribe Does

itranscribe transcribes speech to text in real time. Your spoken words become text — itranscribe does not record or store the audio itself.

What We Collect

• Transcript data — The text transcripts you choose to save (signed-in users)
• Account details — Your Google email and display name (used for sign-in)
• Usage data — Login times, session activity, and IP address (for security)

How We Use It

• Transcription — the core service
• Authentication and access control
• Security monitoring and audit logging

We never use your data for AI model training, marketing, profiling, or any purpose beyond providing the service.

Where Your Data Lives

All data is stored in the United Kingdom (AWS London, eu-west-2). Saved transcripts are encrypted at rest using AES-256. No international transfers of your data occur.

Who Can See It

Only you (and your companion device, if enabled). We use the following services to operate itranscribe:

• AWS (London) — Hosting, transcription, encrypted backups
• Google — Sign-in authentication only
• Third-party speech-to-text providers — Audio is streamed for live transcription only; it is not retained by us

We do not sell, share, or trade your data with anyone else.

How Long We Keep It

Saved transcripts are kept until you delete them. Account data is removed within 30 days of account closure. Access logs are retained for 90 days.

Your Rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data at any time. Contact us and we will respond within 30 days.

If you are unsatisfied with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
